Easter Fun

Easter this year was a ton of fun but super busy. With Caitlin's B-day on the 3rd, Grandma Clarks B-day on the 10th and Sallys B-day on easter day we barely had time to breath. It seemed like it was one party after another. Saturday afternoon we colored eggs as a family and the kids really enjoyed that. We all helped out. Then Sunday the Easter Bunny hid the eggs for the kids to find. He left baskets with jammies and summer clothes in it. We even had help from the dogs. But I do have to admit that I wish we could tell the kids that there was no you know what. I just think that Easter is one of those holidays that it isn't as important who brings the stuff. I think they would be fine knowing that Mom and Dad got the stuff. But Todd said no not yet. Then Sunday afternoon we had a big egg hunt at Grandma Marilyn's house. They hid eggs with clues that took you to your next egg and the final prize was a giant kite! Those are going to be so much fun! Now we just need wind. But we ate a great meal and for dessert we had a chocolate fountain!! YUMMY!! So over all it was a wonderful day spent with all our loved ones!

Caitlin Turns 9

I can't believe that 9 years ago my little girl was born. It just seems like yesterday that I was walking her to Kindergarten class for the first time. Man how time flys. I have to admit that we have our struggles and fair share of fights but I wouldn't trade her for anything. She gives the best hugs and kisses ever! She argues a lot but is very quick to forgive and she always lets you know she loves you. She has turned out to be a GREAT kid who can make friends really easy. She has the biggest heart out of any kid I know. She always makes sure that no one gets left out.
For her Birthday this year she wanted to have a girls only skating party at classic skating. So the Super Mom that I am (hahaha) I reserved a spot at Classic Skating and she seemed to have a great time. All her friends showed up and they laughed and laughed until they were exhausted. Makes me remember the times I went skating with my friends when I was that age! The best part is we didn't have any broken bones from the falls! :) The only things she asked for was a cell phone. So her dad and I gave in and got her one. Which she was told is for emergency's only. (not sure how long that will last) When we gave her the present Todd called her phone so it would ring while she was opening it. You should have seen her face. It was priceless! :)
